The Motorcycle Hall of Fame is a new project that aims
to honour those people who have made significant contributions to
motorcycling in the UK, particularly sporting heroes, but also
recognising those who have excelled in motorcycle design, engineering
and industry as well as those men and women who have promoted motorcycling to
the wider public.
The Hall of Fame presents a unique opportunity for motorcyclists and
enthusiasts to learn about the people who have contributed to
motorcycling in the British Isles and to have a say in who should be
included. It even sends out a positive message to the general public by
celebrating the best in British motorcycling.
There are six categories within the UK Hall of Fame.
1. TT & road racing
2. Short circuit racing & endurance
3. Motocross/scrambles/trials/enduro
4. Drag/sprint/records
5. Speedway/grasstrack
6. Industry figures & ambassadors
Potential inductees will be nominated either by the Judging Panel,
comprising existing members of the Hall of Fame and independent
volunteers who are experts in their field, or by public ballot.
Membership is open either to those who have retired from their career or
have been active in their field for over 25 years.
